Healthy Hair, Healthy Lifestyle: Benefits of Juicing

This weekend my husband and I purchased our first juicer. We were so excited! We have been on the healthy track and its been great. The first juice we made contained: oranges, apples, peaches, nectarines, blueberries and grapes. It. Was. Delicious! Thick and filling. I didn't even have room for dinner.

5 Reasons Why You Should Juice:

  1. You will eat less! The juice is so thick and full of nutrients that you feel full after one glass
  2. You will get all of the nutrients that you need. It is hard to get in all of the necessary servings of fruits and vegetables in one day. So this is a sure way to get them all into one glass.
  3. Its a natural detox. It helps your body cleanse itself on a regular basis and rid itself of toxins
  4. Its yummy!! If you love fruit like I do, not only is this healthy but its a delicious treat
  5. It will aid in weight loss and maintenance. Especially if you substitute a meal for juice or opt for juice rather than dessert.
Can Fruits and Vegetables help you obtain healthy hair?

ABSOLUTELY! Below is a list of some of the major ball players when it comes to getting your hair in tip top shape. As I always say, "You are what you eat."

  • Leafy Dark Green Vegetables - Vitamin A and C, help produce sebum which is a natural hair conditioner on your scalp, contains calcium and iron, aids in hair growth
  • Cucumber - High in potassium, and silica which helps improve the condition of hair, skin and nails
  • Red Bell Peppers - Vitamin C (More than orange juice), powerful antioxidants, increases circulation and helps hair growth
  • Avocados- Vitamin E, helps you obtain healthy hair
