Hair Tip #50: Overnight Deep Conditioning

Lets face it. Most of us are crazy busy with school, work, marriage, children, church, life.. and everything else that life entails. So to even think of spending "quality time" on your hair seems absurd. When do you find the time to deep condition, detangle, moisturize, style, etc?? I have recently started a technique when I am pressed for time. I deep condition overnight!

It takes 10 minutes to apply the deep conditioner. In the morning all I have to do is rinse, moisturize, throw it into a quick style and seize the day!

Step 1: Thoroughly wet your hair with water.
This can be via the shower or a spray bottle.

Step 2: Apply the deep conditioner in sections and twist each section.
Glide the product through to be sure it penetrates the strands. I like to use 4-6 sections.

Step 3: Place a shower cap or plastic bag over your head and wrap with a scarf or bonnet
Be sure it is secure so nothing drips out overnight!

Step 4: Rinse, moisturize and throw it into a quick style
Here are some style ideas that I do with wet hair:

Walah you are done! Your hair will appreciate the TLC. Keep in mind that deep conditioning our hair is necessary for health and growth. Check out this post for more info about why.

Also, you do not have to wash your hair every time you deep condition.Sometimes I just deep condition when my hair is feeling a little dry, rinse it and moisturize it without washing it. So pay attention to what your hair needs!

Have you ever deep conditioned over night? How did it turn out for you? Is this something you would try?
